About Our EMS Program
Rowan Cabarrus Community College is proud to hold CAAHEP accreditation through CoAEMSP for our Paramedic program, with AEMT accreditation currently pending. As the largest EMS program in North Carolina by student volume and the second largest by FTE, we serve a diverse and rapidly growing student population.

Our program includes:
• 3–5 Paramedic cohorts launched annually
• 2 AEMT classes per year
• 20+ EMT classes, along with EMR courses
• Tactical Emergency Medical Provider training
• Emergency Medical Science Associate degree bridge program
• Broad-reaching continuing education across Rowan and Cabarrus counties—and beyond

We employ seven full-time and two part-time EMS education professionals, supported by nearly 100 adjunct instructors. Our program thrives through exceptional partnerships with agencies and community organizations, as well as progressive oversight from our outstanding medical director team.

Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Emergency Medical Services Programs supports the administrative, instructional, and quality assurance functions of EMS programs across two divisions:
• Continuing Education Division
• Academic Programs Division (Emergency Medical Science)

This role requires a collaborative, organized, innovative leader committed to excellence in EMS education.

Required Education & Experience
Candidates must possess:
• A minimum bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field
• At least three years of full-time experience as a Paramedic
• At least two years of teaching experience
• At least two years of leadership experience
• Current North Carolina Paramedic credential
o Time may be provided for applicants seeking legal recognition or reciprocity
• Current NC Level I Paramedic Instructor credential (or in process of obtaining through legal recognition/reciprocity)
o Level II Instructor credential required within 18 months of hire
