Director of EMS – Wilson Community College

Wilson Community College is currently hiring for the role of Director of EMS program. Director will be responsible for: overseeing EMS continuing education programs, including assessing community needs, developing courses, hiring instructors, and managing scheduling and marketing. Ensures compliance with accreditation standards, maintains program approvals, and oversees American Heart Association CPR training. Supports students with registration, conducts outreach and recruitment, and monitors course quality through audits and evaluations. Also handles administrative tasks such as record-keeping, reporting, budgeting support, and participating in departmental planning and committees.

Requirements for the role:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field and at least two years of paramedic-level teaching experience. Must hold a North Carolina Level II EMS Instructor credential at the paramedic level. Candidates should have strong knowledge of EMS education, instructional methods, and student evaluation, along with real-world pre-hospital care experience. Must be familiar with current national EMS standards and guidelines, and either be certified—or able to become certified within a year—as a CPR instructor and training faculty member.

Salary $73,341.00 – $102,336.00 Annually (based on education and experience)
