Forsyth Tech is seeking a motivated, forward-thinking leader to oversee a high-performing, multi-level EMS education program serving students and agencies across the region.
The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program Director provides strategic leadership, administrative oversight, regulatory compliance management, instructional supervision, accreditation coordination, and operational direction for all Emergency Medical Services education programs with Forsyth Technical Community College. These programs include Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), Paramedic, and EMS specialty courses.
The Program Director is responsible for ensuring full compliance with the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services (NC OEMS) rules and standards, as well as Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accreditation requirements and Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) operational policies. The Program Director is also responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures of the North Carolina Community College System, including compliance with regulations and guidelines established by the State Board of Community Colleges Code and North Carolina General Statutes.
This position ensures the delivery of high-quality EMS education programs that prepare competent entry-level EMS professionals while maintaining institutional, state, and national regulatory compliance. The Program Director serves as the legally and professionally accountable individual for all EMS program operations. The Program Director is expected to also work with local community partners in EMS and Fire services within Forsyth and Stokes Counties.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Current North Carolina or National Registry Paramedic credential with the ability to gain reciprocity.
Credentialed NCOEMS level II Paramedic Instructor.
Four (4) years’ experience as a functioning paramedic.
Prior experience in EMS Education.
Knowledge of the National EMS Scope of Practice Model, national EMS Education Standards, and CoAEMSP accreditation standards.
Demonstrated experience in instructional methodology and curriculum development.
