As our Emergency Services Training Officer, you’ll lead the development and delivery of our in-house Paramedic Academy, helping prepare the next generation of EMS professionals to provide exceptional care to the communities we serve.
This isn’t a traditional classroom job. You’ll combine education, mentorship, quality improvement, and field experience to build confident,
competent paramedics who are ready for the challenges of modern EMS.
What You’ll Do
• Lead and coordinate Randolph County’s in-house Paramedic Academy.
• Mentor and develop paramedic trainees from day one through graduation.
• Deliver engaging educational instruction and recruit subject matter experts to teach specialized content.
• Develop innovative learning experiences that prepare students for real-world EMS.
• Monitor trainee progress through quality assurance, coaching, and individualized remediation.
• Analyze educational outcomes and continuously improve the academy using quality management data.
• Assist employees and first responders with credentialing, recertification, and state testing requirements.
• Help coordinate continuing education, annual scope-of-practice testing, and workforce development initiatives.
• Continue serving in the field by working scheduled ambulance shifts and maintaining your clinical expertise.
• Support Emergency Management operations during major incidents, disasters, and special events.

Qualifications
• Associate’s Degree and 3–5 years of Emergency Services experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• North Carolina Office of EMS Paramedic Certification.
• NC OEMS Level I Instructor Certification (Level II preferred).
• Current local credentialing and required instructor certifications (ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, etc.).
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
