The North Carolina Office of EMS (NCOEMS) is actively monitoring the impact COVID-19 is having on EMS Education in North Carolina. While this situation is fluid, our office will be flexible and will assist Educational Institutions with their needs as they arise.
Educational Institutions planning to extend or modify their current/future courses will need to plan accordingly. With a growing number of clinical/field sites prohibiting students, NCOEMS will allow the use of high-fidelity simulation for a maximum of 50% of their remaining clinical/field time. All modifications must be submitted to and approved by your Regional Education Specialist.
For individuals eligible to take the NCOEMS State Credentialing Examination, Scantron has notified NCOEMS of some site changes (i.e., temporary closures or revised procedures). For the most up to date information, these updates are posted at https://www.scantron.com/site-closures-delays/
Again, we will continue to monitor the situation and make additional provisions as needed. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact:
