EMS 110 (EMT) – Johnston Community College

The EMS Program of Johnston Community College (JCC) is pleased to host EMS 110 (EMT Course) as the first course in our Emergency Medical Science Degree Program. Interested students in the degree pathway may apply to JCC online and choose EMS as their program of study where they will be directed to schedule an advising appointment with our Program Advisor. Students who successfully complete EMS 110 will be eligible to continue on to complete the remainder of the Degree, beginning Paramedic-level learning in the Spring semester.

EMS 110 will meet on Mondays and Thursdays from 9am-4pm with occasional weekend classes. This course consists of 192 hours of didactic, lab, TSOPS & exams. In addition, students must complete a minimum of 48 hours in the clinical or field setting along with (10) successful patient contacts/assessments. This course meets NCOEMS and National EMS Education Standards.

The course begins August 18th, 2025. Enrollment and registration ends for degree-seeking students on August 14th, 2025 for the fall semester. Students may email jccemsfaculty@johnstoncc.edu for more information regarding this course or the degree program.
