EMS-3168 & EMS-3169: Anatomy & Physiology I & II

Surry Community College Emergency Medical Program is excited to offer EMS-3168 & 3169. These are an online course designed specifically for the EMS provider and fulfill the anatomy and physiology prerequisite for acceptance into the Certificate Paramedic Program. These are two, 8-week courses (16 weeks combined) administered through 911 eLearning, LLC with weekly coursework required to be completed by a deadline.

EMS-3168 will run from March 6 – May 1

EMS-3169 will run from May 5 – June 30

EMS-3168 and 3169 provide a more advanced study of the structure and function of the human body. Topics include an analysis of body systems and an introduction to homeostasis, cells, tissues, nutrition, acid-base balance, and electrolytes.
Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the fundamental principles of anatomy and physiology.

YOU MUST PASS EMS-3168 to continue into EMS-3169 and BOTH MUST be completed to meet the prerequisites of North Carolina Paramedic Programs.
