Responsible for EMS Performance Improvement, EMS Quality Assurance and EMS Compliance of the Cumberland County EMS System. Under the supervision of the EMS Chief and Medical Director, develops, implements, and coordinates quality assurance program and performance improvement program that focuses on corporate compliance and exceeding benchmarks established inside and outside the EMS System. Ensure compliance with state and local protocol, procedure and policy and compliance with state and federal rules and guidance. Coordinates with CFVHS Corporate Compliance Office to comply with CFVHS requirements.
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
REQUIRED:
Associate’s Degree in Emergency Medical Science or equivalency
Current NC Paramedic certification.
Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) once
Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) once
Certificates of completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses 100, 200 and 700. Completion of NIMS 300 and 400 within (1) year
Current certification as a North Carolina EMS Instructor Level 1
Must possess and maintain a current North Carolina driver’s license and acceptable driving record
PREFERRED
Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Medical Science or equivalency
Certification as a North Carolina EMS Instructor Level II
Experience or certification in a quality assurance program such as Total Quality Management (TQM) and/or Six Sigma preferred.
Instructor certification for BLS, ACLS, PALS and NAEMT courses.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a paramedic
Experience with Quality Assurance or Review as an FTO or higher.
Must have three (3) years licensed driving experience in North Carolina or the equivalent
