EMS Instructor – F/T

Cape Fear Community College is looking for an EMS instructor that has a passion for reaching the youth while still in high school. This EMS Instructor will provide knowledge in his/her field of expertise and to promote various student-centered learning activities that will stimulate an interest in critical thinking and a desire for life-long learning. Various teaching strategies, learning styles and delivery methods including new technology systems will be utilized to reach this goal. This position will focus on providing opportunities for New Hanover County students in the field of EMS.

***This is a Time Limited, Temporary Full Time Grant Funded Position. Position begins July 2024 and ends December 2026 with potential to be extended***

Minimum Education/Training:
Associates Degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field of study required.

Minimum Experience:
At least 2 FT years of experience (or any combination of PT experience that equals two FT years) in an instructional setting as an instructor, and with course development
8 years of specific industry work as an EMT and/or Paramedic
Credentialing as a NC Level I Paramedic Instructor required.

Preferred Education/Training, Experience, Skills:
Bachelors or Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a closely related field.
At least 5 years of experience in an instructional setting as an instructor, and with course development
At least 10 years of specific industry experience as an EMT and/or Paramedic.
Instructor certifications in BCLS, ACLS, PHTLS, and PALS are preferred.
