The EMS Officer II – Compliance course is aimed at providing the new or aspiring EMS officer guidance in confronting common challenges faced by those in EMS managerial and/or leadership roles as they apply to compliance. With a heavy focus on the North Carolina EMS structure, you will be presented with concepts to aid the aspiring, newly promoted, or experienced EMS officer for service in what is expected in an EMS compliance role. Through facilitated discussions, lectures, case studies, and exercises, you will be introduced to creating and maintaining a successful compliance program. Topics will focus on ethics and accountability, billing regulations, conducting a risk assessment, complaint investigation, audit preparation, privacy and security policy development, and quality assurance programs.
