The Emergency Medical Science Program Director in collaboration with the Dean of Human Services and Public Safety provides the vision and leadership required to realize the mission of the program and the college at large. Specifically, they will provide oversight to the Emergency Medical Science (EMS) credit and non-credit programming for pre-service and in-service public safety professionals. Primary administrative responsibilities include program development/management, continuous review, planning, budget administration, general effectiveness of the program, accreditation, and providing supervision and mentoring to full and part time faculty. Instructional responsibilities require a broad-based knowledge of the emergency medical science field of study and all standards and practices at the local, state and national levels. Additionally, they will be responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, developing courses, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Science, education or health-related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Current North Carolina Paramedic Credential
Current North Carolina Level II Paramedic Instructor
American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS Instructor credentials
Valid Driver’s License
Five years of relevant field experience in Emergency Medical Science
Three years of post-secondary teaching and/or industry training experience
Salary Range- based on education and applicable experience:
Bachelor’s degree: $66,439- $99,658
Master’s degree: $71,754 – $107,631
