This course is intended for providers who have allowed their credentials to lapse, are deficient in their annual continuing education hours, or require immediate remedial training following the unsuccessful completion of an initial EMT course offering. All didactic course material will be covered through the online portion; to be supplemented by the live classroom psychomotor (skills review) sessions scheduled throughout the course. As this course is delivered through the hybrid format, questions, comments, and discussions may be had with fellow classmates and instructors through Alamance Community College’s Moodle platform. This course will meet the most current edition of the National Education EMS Education Standards for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), which can be referenced at: https://www.ems.gov/pdf/EMT_Instructional_Guidelines.pdf. To ensure that the student obtains all pertinent education for EMS in North Carolina, the inclusion of Medications and Skills related to the Scope of Practice as an EMT will be required to be covered throughout the course. To determine what Medications and Skills are applicable, refer to the current North Carolina Medical Board Approved Medications and Skills Formulary for EMS Personnel.
