Advanced-EMTs hourly hiring ranges from $19.41 to $22.32. Employees who are assigned to night shift positions will also receive a $2.00-hour shift differential.
Employees are assigned to either 12-hour days (0715-1915 hours) or 12-hour nights (1915-0715 hours).
FCES offer a field training program where employees can receive an additional 5 percent extra per hour on days that they precept.
Standby opportunities paid at a special rate. Standbys include Wake Forest University college sports, concerts, The Carolina Classic fair, and high school football.

Forsyth County Emergency Services EMS division is a progressive EMS service offering state-of-the-art equipment and clinical protocols that allow for flexibility, independence, and critical thinking. Our daily operations operate with a tiered EMS response that includes EMTs, AEMTs, Paramedics, QRVs, EMS supervisors, and a Battalion Chief. Forsyth County EMS allows employees to join specialty teams such as the Bike Team, Tactical Medic Team, and Honor Guard, and we have a progressive MIH program
Forsyth County Emergency Services has an in-house continuing education department managed by our EMS training division. We are proud to be an accredited NAEMT teaching institution and our own American Heart Association training center. Additionally, we are authorized to provide training for the Difficult Airway program and other paid outside educational opportunities.
We seek to provide our employees with the best equipment available so they can safely and efficiently do their jobs. Our ambulances are equipped with Stryker Power Pro-XT Stretchers and Stryker Power-LOAD Systems. We also use LIFEPAK 15s, Stryker LUCAS CPR Systems, video laryngoscopy, and ESO documentation systems.
