Gaston College Summer Basic EMT Academy

Gaston College Summer EMT Academy -Monday through Thursday from 08:30am until 3:00 pm. No evenings, no weekends.

The 245 Hour Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course follows National EMS Education Standards. The class runs June and July, perfect for college students who need a credential for school in the fall.

This course includes all skills and course information necessary to provide emergency care of sick or injured patients at the basic care level. EMTs work for a Basic Life Support ambulance service, fire service, or other specialized rescue agency. Upon successful completion of the EMT course including classroom instruction, psychomotor skills competency, driver training and affective behavior training, the student will be eligible to sit for state and national written examinations.

** Each student must complete 48 hours of Ambulance Clinical Ride Time **
