Lenoir County EMS offers a 24/72 schedule with upcoming promotional opportunities as well for well qualified applicants. Coming in 2024 will be our paramedic academy that will allow you to attend paramedic school while working and continue your growth within the agency.

The Emergency Medical Services Division is seeking candidates for all EMS certification levels.
Candidates must perform advanced life support care including the administration of life sustaining
treatment to patients on-site and while enroute to the hospital. Candidates for employment must be
alert, show tact and decorum, while performing duties with specific instructions, policies and directions
set forth by the Emergency Services Director. Employees in this class are subject to hazards associated
by being a medical service provider. Rotating shift and weekend work is essential for this position as
well. This position is considered essential and requires reporting to work for inclement weather and as
other needs arise within the division.

Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent with 1-2 years of experience in Advanced Emergency
Medical Services Work
• Possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License
• Credentialed by the NC Office of Emergency Medical Services and the Medical Care Commission
• Completion of courses in Advance Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support,
International Trauma Life Support and Basic Life Support
• Completion of ICS 100, 200, 300, 700, and 800
