Professionalism in the Workplace (EMS Edition)

Throughout the three-hour course, Dr. Raphael Barishansky will guide the class through what it means to be a professional in EMS. Including common pitfalls of maintaining professionalism in modern society when faced with heavy social media influence. He will also discuss ways to communicate effectively and appropriately, whether engaging with your partner, subordinates, superiors or the public. This includes how to tailor your message to meet the needs of your environment, how to read a crowd efficiently and how to be a great listener. Finally, he will offer a perspective that often gets looked over; how to harness emotional intelligence for leadership success. Understanding how emotions fuel response and can lead to positive or catastrophic outcomes is pivotal for leadership success. Dr. Barishansky will help with learning how to decipher where your emotions and those of your peers, or anyone engaged in the situation, may be utilized for the greater good.
