The American Heart Association’s Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Renewal Course is an intensive, instructor-led 8-hour program designed for healthcare professionals who have previously completed the full PALS Provider Course and are seeking recertification. This course reinforces the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively recognize and respond to critically ill or injured infants and children, emphasizing high-quality CPR, team dynamics, and advanced pediatric assessment and intervention.
Participants will engage in simulated pediatric emergencies to enhance their ability to manage respiratory failure, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest. Through case-based scenarios and hands-on practice, learners will refine their decision-making and leadership abilities in pediatric resuscitation situations.
Prerequisites: Current AHA PALS Provider card (not expired) and a strong working knowledge of PALS algorithms and pharmacology. Completion of the AHA PALS pre-course self-assessment is required.
Target Audience: Paramedics, nurses, physicians, and other advanced healthcare providers who respond to pediatric emergencies.
Successful Completion Requirements:
Active participation in all case scenarios
Demonstration of PALS skills competency
Passing the written exam with a score of 84% or higher
AHA PALS Provider eCard will be issued upon successful completion and is valid for two years.
