The National Center for Outdoor & Adventure Education (NCOAE) in Wilmington, NC offers a NCOAE offers this efficient and effective EMT training, by combining both a 7-week self-paced online training – with required live online check-ins and proctored exams – and an 11 day in person practical skill sessions at our campus in Wilmington, North Carolina. Guided by the North Carolina of EMS and teaching to the scope of the National Registry, NCOAE serves students both domestically and internationally.
NCOAE’s team designed this 7-week self-paced online EMT training course to be both comprehensive and efficient. The curriculum is divided into 2 phases:
• Part 1: 7 week self-paced, online training to prepare students for the Intensive 11-day practical. There are REQUIRED live online classroom hours and proctored exams with NCOAE faculty throughout the 7-weeks.
• Part 2: In-Person Practical – 11 consecutive days of hands-on skills training culminating in comprehensive psychomotor testing. During the practical session, students will complete 48 hours of clinical/field experience with local hospital and EMS systems.
PLEASE NOTE: This course is not suitable for everyone. It utilizes a unique learning model that requires exceptional time management, self-direction, and motivation. To succeed, you must be able to digest and comprehend basic EMS content and information. If you’re ready to take on the challenge, this course is for you— otherwise, it may not be the best fit and you should check out either our Hybrid or Standard 21-Day EMT training.
Upon successful completion of our EMT training, you will be prepared and ready to pass both the NC State exam and the NREMT exam. Please note that most states do offer reciprocity, however each state is different, please feel free to call with any questions.
