This is a traditional face to face class. Class meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6pm-10pm with a few Saturdays. Class will be held in Pearson Life Skills at the Dallas Campus of Gaston College.
This 96-hour course for Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) follows national and NC State Educational Standards. This course includes all skills and course information necessary to provide emergency medical care at the responder level. This EMR certification can be utilized on a Basic Life Support ambulance, NC Fire Service or other specialty rescue agencies. Each student will receive instruction in airway, patient assessment, medical and trauma care, and ambulance operations. After successful completion of the course, the student will be eligible to sit for both state and national written exams.
