Transylvania County EMS Full-Time Paramedic Position

Transylvania County EMS is the primary 911 EMS agency of Transylvania County located in Western North Carolina. The County Seat of Transylvania County is Brevard, NC. Transylvania County EMS operates three emergency ALS Paramedic ambulances during the day and two emergency ALS Paramedic ambulances at night. In addition, the on-duty Supervisor is assigned to an additional ambulance for response and transport capabilities. Transylvania County EMS has two EMS stations. The main station is in Brevard. The substation is in the Quebec community.

Transylvania County’s population is approximately 35,000 people. However, during the summer, Transylvania County’s population can more than double due to its popularity among visitors, summer residents, and summer camp attendees and staff. Transylvania County is home to the Pisgah National Forest, DuPont Recreational State Forest, and Gorges State Park. These outdoor locations are host to many outdoor activities, including biking, hiking, rock climbing, running, fishing, horseback riding, kayaking, and canoeing. Transylvania County is a popular community to live in and visit for those who love the outdoors and the comfort and support of a small community.

Transylvania County EMS is currently accepting applications for two (2) full-time Paramedic positions. Applicants must have a current North Carolina Paramedic credential. Eligible applicants will be invited to attend a hiring process that includes a written assessment, skills assessment/scenarios, physical ability testing, and interview once applications have been processed and reviewed. Pre-employment screenings will be required for the final candidates. These are conducted by Transylvania County Human Resources.
