Description: Performs difficult skilled technical work assisting with the administration and supervision
of emergency medical services program and staff, responding to emergency calls,
providing service and transportation, overseeing the preparation and maintenance of
records and files, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is
performed under the supervision of the Emergency Medical Services Manager. This
position is responsible for the supervision of EMS Field Operations staff.
Requirements: This position requires considerable experience as an EMS technician with leadership
experience preferred. The person in the position shall at least 5 years EMS experience,
with three of those being at the Paramedic level. Possession of NC Paramedic, ACLS,
PALS, PHTLS/ITLS, and NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 704, and 800 certifications upon
hire. Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of North Carolina. This
position require residency in Halifax County (or within 6 months of hiring.) This is an
emergency response position which requires the ability to respond to emergencies and/or
unplanned county business closures within 15 minutes.
Compensation: The hiring range for this position is $51,763 – $65,546. Halifax County provides a
comprehensive employee benefits package, including membership in the N.C. Local Government
Employees’ Retirement System.
