EMS District Chief – Harnett County

An employee in this position performs emergency medical care as a paramedic for Harnett County Emergency Services and serves as a lead worker for that shift. This includes: An employee in this position performs emergency medical care as a paramedic for Harnett County Emergency Services and serves as a lead worker for that shift. ; ensuring that the shift is covered with qualified personnel and has a sufficient supply of inventory; training new employees assigned to the unit; overseeing non-emergency medical transport during the shift; and assuming the role of the EMS Assistant Chief of Operations when necessary. This position is distinguished from the Paramedic position due to the greater responsibility for assisting with ensuring that the shift is covered with qualified personnel, ensuring adequate supply inventory, training new employees assigned to the unit.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK
-Associate’s degree in EMS or related field;
-Three (3) years of experience as a paramedic, supervisory experience is desirable; or equivalent education and/or experience;
-Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license;
-Possession of a current Paramedic Certification from the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services;
-Possession of other applicable certifications such as BLS, PALS, ACLS, ITLS and/or PHTLS, EVD and/or EVOC or equivalent, , and HazMat certification desired; and
-Possession of ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 is desirable
-Meets all other requirements of Paramedic.
