FTO 24/72 Edgecombe County EMS

Edgecombe County EMS is accepting applications for full-time FTOs. These personnel are responsible for
staffing ambulances and responding to and caring for the citizens and visitors of Edgecombe County, training
of new employees and students, and assisting with the quality assurance program.

Schedule: 24/72 meaning that the duration of a duty shift is 24 hours followed by 72 hours
of “off duty” time. Report time is by 6:45am until 7:00am the following day.

Functions: respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls for service, foster and maintain professional relationships with other providers, healthcare workers, citizens, and patients; training of new employees/students and facilitation of the FTEP process; QM/QA process involving chart review and remediation of clinical issues with current employees; provide lifesaving measures to the critically ill or injured within the scope a paramedic; facilitate transport of these patients to the hospital; check / maintain EMS equipment / medical supplies when on duty; complete patient care reports (PCRs) after a call for service; participate in training programs and other activities at the discretion of the EMS Manager

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED, North Carolina Paramedic state certification, North Carolina Driver’s License and acceptable driving record, ACLS, PALS, BLS, and ITLS or equivalent is preferred

Salary Range: $22.45-33.68/hr (Annual Expected Salary $46,695.10 – $70,053.05) Overtime hours are paid at true time and a half.

On top of the starting salary, Edgecombe County offers excellent benefits that total over $10,000 annually in addition
to 2% contribution to the 401k. Range is based upon years of experience.
